Have you talked with your principal to discuss the activities on campus, activities from home and after hours activities and programs that parents can participate in? Is there an active Parent Volunteer Group on campus now?
ReplyDeleteI like you detailed timeline and wish you all the luck!
Lara, You have a lot of great activites and tracking with meetings. However, I didn't see specifics on how you were going to "get" them there! I am assuming some of this is going to be established in the BOY meetings with other staff members. This is the same area I struggled with....if they are not attending now, letting them know we are having another meeting is not going to change their behavior?!?! Are you offering incentives? We used to do food but can't anymore! That caused a huge turnout! I am still looking but thought I would check with you on this point!
ReplyDeleteLara,
ReplyDeleteResearch into parental involvement is important and vital to the continued success of our public schools. Great work on your plan so far. Keep up the excellent job, and you'll be pleased to see the research outcome.
